Madoc Tartan
From the songful land of Wales
About The Madoc Tartan
The Madoc tartan. Derived from the Welsh personal name Madog, an ancient Welsh name of princes and leaders. Legend has it that in 1167, Prince Madoc explored the western seas discovering new land. Madog, on returning to Wales organised many ships and Welsh people to start a colony in 'America'.
It is thought that the first white settlers at the falls of Ohio may have been Welsh over 300 years before Christopher Columbus sailed to the new world. In use in Wales and worldwide.
