From the Highlands of Scotland
About The Fife, Duke of Modern Tartan
The Fife, Duke of Modern tartan is a bold, striking design associated with the title Duke of Fife, a noble title in the British peerage with strong Scottish roots. The title was first created in 1889 for Alexander Duff, 6th Earl Fife, who married Princess Louise, the eldest daughter of King Edward VII.
As a result, the Dukes of Fife became closely connected to the British royal family and held estates in Banffshire and across eastern Scotland.
