About The Scott Red Modern Tartan
Clan Scott is one of the most renowned Border clans of Scotland, with a storied history deeply rooted in the Scottish Borders, particularly around Roxburghshire and Selkirkshire. The clan is believed to have descended from Uchtredus filius Scoti in the 12th century, whose name signifies "son of the Scot."
Over time, the Scotts grew to become one of the most powerful and influential families in southern Scotland. Their historic seat was Branxholme Castle, and the clan played a key role during the Border Reiver era, fiercely defending their lands and engaging in cross-border skirmishes.
They were also staunch supporters of the Scottish crown.
